Looking for a weekend adventure? Or maybe a nice day trip is more your speed. Either way, Sierra Club’s North Star Chapter has got you covered this season with a with a variety of outings to help you make the most of this beautiful weather!
Next Saturday (12/28), join us at William O’Brien State Park for a fun-filled day of skiing through the park’s rolling, wooded hills. Just an hour away from the Twin Cities, this well-groomed getaway is practically in our back yard! Whether it’s traditional or skate skiing, the park’s 20 miles of groomed trails have something for newbies and seasoned skiers alike! Please contact Outings Leader Joyce Icardo for details.
If it’s a resort-style, weekend escape you’re after, then mark your calendars because January 31st through February 2nd, the North Star Chapter is heading up to the National Forest Lodge for a weekend of skiing, family-style dining, and great Saturday night music!
Take in the beautiful sights of Northern Minnesota’s winter wonderland as you ski through 30km of remote, quiet cross-country ski trails winding through 2,000 acres of Superior National Forest. As the sun sinks below the towering pines, make your way to the main lodge with a hearty, family-style dining. Then, when you’ve had your fill, hop in the outdoor hot tub for some stargazing or hit the trails for some moonlit night skiing! Other attractions include: a lakeside sauna, a sledding hill for the kiddos (or the young at heart), snowshoe trails, and much more! For more information, please contact Outings Leader Margaret Elkins.
