Minnesota Power Offers SolarSense Program

by Shane Solga

Minnesota Power customers interested in solar energy have new incentives to go solar!

This winter, Minnesota Power started a program called SolarSense that provides incentives to help their residential and business customers realize the benefits of solar energy. This program, which is scheduled to continue through the end of 2012, provides customers two options: solar electric and/or solar thermal water heating.

Incentives start at $2,000 with a cap of $20,000 for the solar electric program and $25,000 for the solar thermal water heating option. There are also incentives for energy efficiency and the use of Minnesota made products. Only limited funds have been allocated to this program, however, and they will be allocated on a first-come, first serve basis.
