Since the EPA began, clean air protections have saved hundreds of thousands of American lives and prevented countless asthma attacks, heart attacks, premature deaths and other illnesses. Unfortunately big polluters have launched new attacks this year, and are fighting hard to prevent the EPA from doing its job — a job they have done for more than 40 years. As the health safeguards for our air provided by the EPA come under attack, it’s time to think about each breath we take — and what affect it could have on our health.
League of Women Voters’ national president, Elisabeth MacNamara, will be in Minnesota for forums in Rochester and White Bear Lake precisely for this reason. This summer, the League began a months-long campaign seeking to renew America’s promise to protect clean air and public health embodied in the highly successful and popular Clean Air Act.
RSVP to join the Sierra Club and the League of Women’s Voters, and learn what is at stake when we talk about clean air, the EPA, and your health.
